A new lockie on the Thames

That'd be me then. Sue had us out of bed at 6.30 am yesterday morning for an 8.00 am start. It was so early that the first lock of the day, Marlow, was still on DIY!
Although we left in continuous drizzle Marlow still looked lovely
The enormous weir with the suspension bridge in the background

The next lock was Temple and we had to wait for this steam boat to come down - the 'self-service' sign was still up here too; but the lockie arrived by this boat had cleared so my '5 minutes of power' was quickly over

We continued on through to Henley
but didn't stop for an ice cream here

A bit of a race going on with Vic here; pretty pointless with their big new engine - all we can do is eat their dirt spray
Before reaching our destination - an island by Wargrave below Shiplake Lock. 10 miles and 5 locks. After lunch, Sue and I set off with the 6 pack in search of a cauilflower. Didn't find a shop but did find a dog friendly pub and a pint of Doombar. The rain was intermittent all day.
The other 3 dogs are asleep under the table
Now this is never going to work. One of them needs to take charge and get them all organised - failing that we need another gang plank to install a dual carriageway! Daisy was the first gang plank victim, providing her with a quick dip before dinner - her first since the River Nene; so it's been overdue
