Fish for tea

Leaving the boat yesterday (to spend the morning with the family) I passed a jokey remark with John on NB Doubting Thomas. "if you catch a Zander and don't want it (you're not supposed to put them back) we'll be happy to have it"
and catch one he did

  1. I have eaten what was called Pikeperch in France, which I suspect is the same beast

    1. The last one we ate came out of the Great Ouse at Ely. Jolly nice it was too - quite meaty and a lot like Sea Bass. Not at all bony like Pike are (or so I'm told)

  2. Just want to say:-

Wishing you both a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2014.

Sorry that getting to see you didn't work out. We haven't been at the marina much. It's looking great out there on the GU.

Enjoy yourselves. Take care and ............just as well it's the taste that matters, not the looks!!!!!!

    Luv,
Angela, John and Lola(who is now fully recovered!) xxoo

  3. Great to hear that Lola is back to normal. We can still get it together in January though can't we? Like you, our time is being taken up at the moment and the odd day it's not, we're cruising in the sun.
    Merry Christmas xxoo
