Didn't leave 'til 10.30am with a steady flow of traffic in both directions. We were going to moor at the top of Hurleston locks, but decided to carry on down and moored at the bottom on the Shroppie proper around 4.30pm, just as it started to rain. 2 long days for us - we were hoping for dental and chiropractic appointments, respectively, in Nantwich but neither will happen until at least Saturday. We were also hoping to intercept Linda and David on NB Critical Point before they shot through and wanted to have a proper look round Nantwich.
Poor chap who raised the electronic bridge in the middle of Wrenbury couldn't get it back down again and faced the wrath of drivers from the increasing build up of traffic - I smiled sweetly and made sympathetic noises as MR ducked through under the raised bridge. Poor man, but there really wasn't anything I could do to help from the far bank.
So, that's us off the Llangollen Branch.
All was well and peaceful in the world - makes a very nice change
The dogs and I pootled along the towpath for most of the journey, doing locks and lift bridges as we went - my back wasn't too bad as long as I was careful but the proof of the pudding will be in the stopping; tomorrow I will either be cured or crippled, I suspect.Poor chap who raised the electronic bridge in the middle of Wrenbury couldn't get it back down again and faced the wrath of drivers from the increasing build up of traffic - I smiled sweetly and made sympathetic noises as MR ducked through under the raised bridge. It was good to meet you today. Hope the back is soon better.
