Mathematical dilemma

OK we have 7 colours and 11 tiles of each colour.
So that's 6 tiles high, then one panel is 5 tiles wide and one is seven wide
Now we have 2 different blues, 2 greens, 2 reds, but only 1 yellow...duhh
we don't want the same colours next to each other or the stronger colours together or......
 ......simples (it wasn't)
so having supervised the tile shuffle I set off across the park to the lock in search of Lesley who was cleaning brass - do you fancy coming for a walk and giving the dogs a swim? "No I'm cleaning the brass," she said.........weak

and after getting home and throwing late lunch at himself I set off in the kayak in search of nooks and crannies
sometimes you think these places aren't navigable, but if you shove your way through they often open up and are fabulous - sometimes they don't and you get jammed
which way at the roundabout?
Put to bed for the night as it's last night of the proms, so lots of flag waving and raucous out of tune singing to be done, plus bobbing up and down. We normally make sure we're in the middle of nowhere for last night of the proms - this time we are in Godmanchester park and in danger of frightening more than just the horses

  1. The easy way is to set a line up in the colours you like then set a pattern that is the same as the pattern a knights move is on a chess board with one colour only. I did it this was on our NB it looks totally random but never repeats.

    1. Does Debbie ever tell you what a clever clogs you are - just a shame you're not clairvoyant and sent that info through a whole lot earlier

  2. I love the tiles - we had the same dilemma when we painted our fireplace tiles yellow and 2 shades of orange - 'random' takes a lot of organisation!

You really sound as if you're thriving at the moment - long may it continue :-)

    1. Thank you Sue; if by 'thriving' you mean 'growing', I think I resemble that remark. I think my anorexic days are over!
