Blakemere to Ellesmere

Lesley and I walked the short distance from Blakemere to Ellesmere - the towpath is in perfect condition and we desperately needed the Tesco at the end of the arm.
Caxton swings round to the service point and MR heads down the arm towards Tesco

We winded at the end

and then had a looksie round the town

The Mere is very impressive
and the visitor centre has web cams on the Heron nests on the island so that you can watch them feeding the chicks all close up and personal - brilliant

the trip boat doing, surprisingly little, trade in the sunshine

the old boat houses.

We went into town for an Indian meal as we were splitting up with Caxton for a while. They were heading back for blacking and we were continuing on to meet up with friends at Chirk
