Who nicked the wood?

Leaving himself to watch the rugby, I set off in search of the Co-op and a hair cut. Having checked with BW for permission to harvest the wood I decided to check on it. Horror of horrors it was gone.

Then I realised somebody had been in to saw it and had put it in a heap by the rear fence. Thank you very much, it was now in manageable pieces ready to load so I abandoned my shopping trip and phoned himself to move the boat up whilst I started lugging it down the bank to waterside.
Daisy took the opportunity to do a bit of her own type of logging.
Having loaded the wood onto the roof I resumed my trip into Saxilby village

The village has a couple of pubs and shops, plus greengrocers, butchers, bakers (no candlestick makers) and a florists. Also a fish and chip shop and Chinese. What more could you want? We haven't done this area justice due to circumstances beyond our control - we shall, however, be back to do it properly another day
On my return we headed off for Torksey Lock.
The tides are getting a bit funny now and are very low so we locked down about 4pm and.struggled to get out of Torksey Lock due to the low tide (and this was high tide!)
I took this from the fore deck looking back into the huge lock - just before we got a little bit stuck
and then back out onto the tidal waters and into a head wind.
Getting a bit cocky now - moored here at Dunham on tidal waters. An early start tomorrow to catch enough water after sunrise.
A narrowboat confused it's left and right and has been stuck on a sand bank just up here for at least 12 hours (that'll be the other left then!!!).

Time and tide wait for no man,,,,,,

Woke today to a horrible grey day...... G was locked into the rugby and the rest of us were ..well.. locked into sleep..
 Not an ounce of enthusiasm.....
 ....could be found anywhere.
We finally sorted ourselves out and dragged everybody out for a circular walk passing the Police underwater search team vehicle parked in Burton Waters Marina

 Rock'n'Roll has regenerated (sorry Carol)

The camouflage is amazing but Muttley still found him/her..everytime the frog jumped Muttley shot into the air

We finished the walk with a pint on the moorings and then made a decision to move back to Saxilby ready to help BW out and 'tidy' up the wood I spotted on Sunday. As it was raining, the old order was restored and he took the tiller whilst I did some food prep - another cracking day.
We need to start making our way back now as the tides are getting low and the aegir thingies are coming - MR was never designed for surfing!
PS Daisy's mouse still not recaptured.

Lincoln

It's a hell of a climb up the cobbled streets of Lincoln to the 'sexy' bits  around the Cathedral and Castle, but well worth it. Luckily, given that we had the dogs with us, we managed to avoid Indigo Dreams encounter with the Kami Kazi cat.

Unfortunately a lot of it was being dug up whilst we were there

The Lion and Snake didn't seem to want to serve us, so we walked out. The 16th Century Green Dragon gave us a discount for being members of Camra.
We didn't go inside the castle or the cathedral as the cost was too steep for us poor old pensioners.

No Graham, you can't fire it at people doing more than 4mph!

I would have liked to stay overnight so that I could have an independent firtle around the museums and art galleries but we couldn't find moorings that made sense for us - we tried to contact Brayford Trust for a mooring in Brayford Pool, but we couldn't make contact so we pulled out 2 miles and moored by the Pyewipe Inn which allowed the animals free reign and a respite for us from gongoozlers.
