I am going spare

I have been here, at Mums, for a week now and I still can't find out what's going on. I can find people who will let me talk to them and will listen BUT NO ONE WILL TALK TO US. It now looks like it will be Wednesday. I have completely run out of things to try and that is the worst of all - I have never felt so defeated. This is probably a blog that should remain in draft but sod it

  3. Best to get it off your chest - you never know, you might have a reader who works in the NHS in the area who can actually help you....

I know that my sympathy's not much use to you but you've got it anyway....

  4. I've done the shouting and stamping, I've found a boaty nurse who took some pity on us and told us a little. Sue and Pip both; it is a LOT of use and I feel the hugs. There was also a boaty bloke visiting next door's bed and he gave me a hug. I love boaty people.

  6. Will do Lesley - breakfast in bed every morning. I wish she wouldn't put quite so much marmalade on my toast though. Thanks, loving the hugs.

  7. Err well I used to work in a hospital. I know nothing about the patient's situation but my only advice is to find out your mother's Consultant and call her/his Secretary, you will easily be put through from the hospital switchboard. In my limited experience these are the people with a bit of ummmph.
She will I am sure speak to the Consultant PDQ and pass on your concerns and most importantly get answers for you.
Keep the secretary on your side though....
    Jolly good luck

  8. Lisa that is massively good advice; they are always brilliant human beings and she is lovely and listening, but she still can't help - I strongly believe she has tried x

  9. Well then there should be a "Dis-care package" being put together for more elderly people..... sometimes social workers, GP's, a respite centre,Health visitors etc all being involved.... Age Concern may have some ideas, Its ghastly to listen to these stories in the press about the care of elderly but it does sound like you are doing everything you can at the moment.
    Good Luck
